The Addy Room

The Addy Room is a unique self portrait, a manifestation of an individual in the form of an enveloping environment. A person's room is a sacred and private place, an oasis hidden from the rest of the world. In it, they are free to be and behave as they please. It is a place shared only with those closest to them, and even then, remains somewhat filtered. The idea behind this piece was to transfer my personal safe haven to a public place and allow a crowd to infiltrate and observe every aspect of my being.
The works of art are arranged in a way similar to my actual room. An organized mess. Most of the pieces are placed based on what makes the most sense to me, not always the most obvious option. There is no one theme for each wall or any clear categories. Like my life, the works are in disarray, making them that much more interesting. There are, however, series that belong together and certain artworks that, in my mind, could not be next to each other. The placement of each piece represents its place in my life and it’s connection/lack of connection to others.
The room is meant to show every detail of who I am and what I’ve experienced. Each piece was tailored to suit a hidden meaning. Some represent fond or painful memories, while some simply show the people I love. Many pieces are representations of my physical self, and the places I’ve been, including sentimental objects placed around the space. These works were inspired by traits and descriptions given to me by those closest to me. The walls are coated with these objects and works in order to create an enveloping environment.

חדר עדי הוא דיוקן עצמי ייחודי, ביטוי של אדם בצורת סביבה עוטפת. חדרו של אדם הוא מקום קדוש ופרטי, נווה מדבר נסתר משאר העולם. בו, הם חופשיים להיות ולהתנהג כרצונם. זה מקום משותף רק עם הקרובים אליהם, וגם אז, נשאר מצונזר. הרעיון מאחורי היצירה הזו היה להעביר את המקום הבטוח והאישי שלי למקום ציבורי ולאפשר לקהל להסתנן ולהתבונן בכל היבט של הווייתי.
יצירות האמנות מסודרות בצורה דומה לחדר שלי ולמוח שלי. בלגן מאורגן. רוב היצירות ממוקמות על סמך מה שהכי הגיוני בעיני, לא תמיד האפשרות הברורה ביותר. אין נושא אחד לכל קיר או קטגוריות ברורות כלשהן. כמו החיים שלי, העבודות מסודרות בחוסר סדר, מה שהופך אותן ליותר מעניינות. עם זאת, יש סדרות השייכות יחד ויצירות אמנות מסוימות שבעיניי לא יכולות להיות אחת ליד השנייה. המיקום של כל יצירה מייצג את מקומו בחיי ואת החיבור/היעדר החיבור לאחרים.
החדר נועד להראות כל פרט של מי אני ומה חוויתי. כל יצירה הותאמה כך שתתאים למשמעות נסתרת. חלקם מייצגים זיכרונות נעימים או כואבים, בעוד חלקם פשוט מראים את האנשים שאני אוהבת. חלקים רבים הם ייצוגים של האני הפיזי שלי, והמקומות שבהם הייתי, כולל חפצים סנטימנטליים שהוצבו בחלל. עבודות אלו נוצרו בהשראת תכונות ותיאורים שניתנו לי על ידי הקרובים אליי. הקירות מצופים בחפצים אלו ופועלים על מנת ליצור סביבה עוטפת הנוגעת בכל החושים.
